Based On A True Story

For the past week and a half, I have been slaving over two new paintings for this:

The Hidden Wisdom: Based on a True Story
"Based on a True Story" brings The Hidden Wisdom artists together to offer their interpretation of how we resolve truth from fiction in the world we live in. We establish our thoughts and ideas based on various information sources be it history, religion, science, politics, media, or family. How much of this information gets filtered objectively and at what point do we perpetuate myth as truth. How do we seperate fact from fiction?

Go away germs!

My drawing for Traded To Racine's "Several Severed Heads" is almost complete. The only thing cooler than the cover art, will be the music itself.

Also, my dear friends Moderna Muerte have listed one of my old paintings entitled "254th Annual Sacrificial Easter Parade" in their Etsy store. Someone should give it a good home, because it's one of my favourites.

If you are ever in Lake Worth, pay them a visit. You will thank me for it!

Back, but not in black.

Wow, it's been almost eight months! I got here just in time. This blog was in danger of being completely devoured by vicious dust bunnies and cobwebs. If anyone follows this blog, I apologize for the lack of updates. A lot has happened since March 23rd.

After Box Gallery, Above and Below travelled to Andrews Museum(NC) and Roots Cafe(Brooklyn, NY). Now that Hell is dead, I am dying to start working on another series. There are a couple ideas swimming around in the brain waves, but I have yet to commit. However, I have been working on a couple projects. One is an album cover for my good friends in Traded To Racine . The other is illustrating a story written by one of my sister's best friends.

There has been one major change in my life. On July 1st, I left good ol' Coral Springs(FL) and moved to Brooklyn (NYC). It's taking a while to settle in, but I love it here. Now that I have found a place of my own, I need to get those creative juices again. It's very tough to work when you don't have your own space.

News Flash:
Melissa Diaz
is sitting next to me. She's a 3D installation baroness. Eventually, her and I will be collaborating on a project.

Well, that's about it for now. I promise that updates will be more frequent.

Hell is here!

Well, all of my Hell drawings made it to the Box Gallery safe and sound. Word on the street is that the opening of Above and Below went well. Three of Anthony's pieces have been sold, which is great.
All of my pieces still remain unsold, but I am hoping that will change before the show ends. I'm keeping my finger crossed.

Johnny(The Box Gallery owner/curator) will be posting photos of the opening on his Flickr. I will let everyone knows when he does.

Oh yeaaaaah, photos of all thirteen Hell drawings have been posted.

Hell hath no fury

On Friday, after ten months, and $92.25... I finally said "Goodbye!" to Hell!

Eventhough, I was seven drawings shy of my original goal, this series still turned out to be the one I am most proud of. I can only hope, that everyone else will love it as much as I do.

I am very excited and nervous about the March 21st opening.

Here is a shot of the packing process. There are are more on my Flickr.

You ffffound me.

Today, my good friend Jessie aka Bessie informed me that the drawing I did for her was posted on this image sharing site called FFFFOUND. I just spent about an hour looking through the first 37 pages of posts, and I love the site.

Thanks Bessie!

It's on the right side of the second posted image on the page. Here is the link:

His Infernal Majesty

Finally, I have started my Lucifer interpretation for "Above and Below". As usual, with the start of any piece, I am not sure how I feel about it. Hopefully, after a few more hours of work... it will grow on me.
